DRINK BETTER BEER
Beer is the world’s most widely consumed alcoholic beverage. It is also the third most popular drink overall behind water and tea. The popularity of beer and the rise of the craft beer culture gave birth to what is now a billion dollar industry. According to the Brewers Association (BA) , as of June 30, 2016 there was a record-high, 4,656 craft breweries operating in the United States. The result is an ever growing variety of passionately crafted beer being brewed, kegged, bottled and canned.
As craft beer enthusiasts, one of the primary focuses of our network is to promote craft beer awareness through education and exposure. We believe it should be everyone’s goal to #DrinkBetterBeer.
BEER FOR RECOVERY
Despite popular belief, beer is actually not a bad option for recovery after a nice run or workout. Beer contains carbs, electrolytes and several plant-based nutrients that come from the hops, yeast and barley. Additionally, most American beer is approximately 90% water, which makes it a decent re-hydrator if consumed in moderation.
Every few months, our Mayors collaborate on our BRU 6 Pack, a selection of seasonal craft beer offerings that we are currently recovering with after our runs. On occasion, we will also feature seasonal releases that are both rare and very limited but are well worth getting your hands (and lips) on. There is no substitute for the joy of a cold beer after a nice run.
